Winter General Meeting
6:00 to 8:00 pm on Jan 10th, 2024 in the Shannon Room
The seasons change but IEEE will always be here to bring you warmth and love ❤️ As the weather is finally getting colder (perhaps too cold for us California natives), we invite you to feel the warmth of friendship and electrical engineering at our Winter General Meeting this Wednesday at 6pm in the Shannon Room! 🫶 Come to see what we've been up to and for some free food for all who are worthy!
IDEA HACKS 2024: TENTH ANNIVERSARY
Jan 12th, 2024 to Jan 14th, 2024 in Ackerman Grand Ballroom
IEEE at UCLA is pleased to present the tenth anniversary of IDEA Hacks, the premier hardware-focused hackathon on the West Coast. Hosted by IEEE’s Student Branch at UCLA for 36 hours this upcoming January 12-14, 2024, it provides hundreds of students from both UCLA and local community colleges with the opportunity to develop their own tangible products. Throughout the experience, IEEE provides parts, tools, space, food, and workshops all for free, so all students can focus solely on their projects.

Member of the Week
David Zheng
Year and major: Senior, Electrical Engineering
Involvement with IEEE: I was the first person to get WRAP to work, and I'm basically an unofficial WRAP lead. Also, I'm running my own project called WRAP Returners, where students learn microwave circuits.
Hobbies: Outside of my EE hobby projects, dumpster diving, and oscilloscope hoarding hobby, I enjoy playing the piano.
Favorite memory with IEEE: Getting my WRAP board to work. (My least favorite memory was when it got stolen two days later).
Your most useless talent or fun fact: I have perfect pitch
What you would be doing if time and money were not an issue: Your mom. (Unironic answer: probably the same things but with a bigger budget. If I had infinite resources I'd buy a bunch of fancy 110GHz scope and I'd start my own chip fabrication company which is geared towards hobbyists). I'd also hire a CS major so I never have to code again, and I'd hire someone to stalk Ramtin and make rolling R noises at him.
