IDEAHACKS RECAP!!!! :DDD
IDEA Hacks 2024, the largest hackathon on the West Coast, officially ended a week ago, and we had a great time! We had over 230 hackers present, 57 teams, $4.6k in prizes, 4 delicious (and free) meals, 400 free Yerba Mates, as well as two musical performances from Bruin Chamber Musicians and Game Music Ensemble. Volunteers presented both technical and non technical workshops, teaching concepts such as microcontrollers and how to screen print custom tote bags. Participants created projects from parts provided completely free of charge to fulfill the theme of Celebrating Our Communities!
Congratulations to our top 3 teams, Echo Location, The Seeing Eye Vest, and Bare Bones DND! If you want to check out all the projects from last weekend, take a look at our Devpost: https://idea-hacks-2024.devpost.com/project-gallery. Thank you to everyone who participated in, volunteered at, and sponsored this fantastic event. If you couldn’t make it this year, we hope to see you there next year! Stay tuned for what IDEA Hacks 2025 has to offer!
