IDEA Hacks 2023
IDEA Hacks 2023 is coming very soon! If you registered to participate, make sure to show up on Friday, January 20th (end of week 2) for an unforgettable weekend of hands-on experience, prizes, tons of fun activities, and free food! We have been working incredibly hard to make this weekend one you will remember for years, and we guarantee you will have an amazing time.
We have 30 hydroflasks, over 100 lbs of snacks, 4 free meals, hundreds of unique parts, acrylic for laser cutting, networking opportunities with industry sponsors, collaborations with many other UCLA clubs, live music, a room dedicated just to games, and so much more all lined up and ready to go for you!
Join the Outreach Committee!
Join the Outreach Committee! The purpose of this committee is to give back to our local community by providing resources and support in the form of workshops, panels, and exhibitions. If you are interested in helping students from local high schools and community colleges learn technical ECE skills, or speaking to prospective students at panels, consider joining the ECE Outreach Committee!
The interest form can be found here.
We already have some workshops and exhibits lined up for the upcoming school year, and we're really excited to see how we can impact the community around us. This committee is low commitment (you won't get kicked out if you don't attend an event), so don't worry about not having enough time, we would be happy if you can help out whenever you can!
Please feel free to ask Ryan, our Outreach Coordinator, or email outreach@ieeebruins.com if you have any questions regarding the committee.
Member of the Week
Megan Chen
Year and major: Sophomore, Electrical Engineering
Involvement with IEEE: Micromouse Lead, DAV member, and formerly GB and MM member
Hobbies: Tennis, violin, gaming, and lots of procrastinating
Favorite memory with IEEE: Hanging out at the start of the quarter and helping people out :D
Your most useless talent or fun fact: I've grown an aloe vera plant from a tiny sprout into a foot tall plant that took over the pot I planted it in :o
What you would be doing if time and money were not an issue: Vibing, learning about random things, or procrastinating more
Piece of advice to our readers: Take it slow sometimes, cause life's got a lot to throw at you. It's okay to take a break and come back to it later :D Also don't be scared to ask for help! The real homies got your back :)
